Scope 3 GHG Emission Calculations for Electronics Manufacturers and the Impact of China's Evolving Energy and GHG Regulations
Please join the Golden West Section of A&WMA for a discussion of greenhouse gas emissions calculations and regulations on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP.
Prior to joining Chevron, Roberto Piccioni worked as a consultant. He has recently completed an environmental sustainability benchmarking project for a Silicon Valley manufacturer. The project was to help understand how their company compared to their competitors in tracking and managing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) of their supply chain partners. The study group included a number of major electronics companies. His analysis also described the evolving GHG emission trading schemes unfolding in China, where most of these companies have their manufacturing suppliers located. This research project resulted in a published paper and presentation at the 2013 Air & Waste Management Association Forum in Chicago.
Mr. Piccioni currently provides Lead Compliance Assurance for the Health, Environment and Safety Operational Excellence Management System process for the real estate management division of Chevron. In this role, he develops and leads the internal compliance assurance auditing function for the unit's global operations.
Mr. Piccioni volunteers and provides advisory and professional services for Occupational Knowledge International, an NGO promoting lead minimization standards in developing world. As an adjunct faculty member in Dominican University's Green MBA program in San Rafael, Mr. Piccioni teaches a class in "Sustainable Operations Management".
Members of the Mother Lode Chapter or Golden West Section and their colleagues may attend the dinner. We welcome representatives of regulatory agencies, academia, industry, community and environmental groups, and the consulting community.
