Update on Legislative Agenda, SB375 and Plan Bay Area, and CEQA

In our first program of this year, we're pleased to welcome three distinguished speakers on smart growth, land use, and CEQA.

Guest Speaker(s)
  • Senator Mark DeSaulnier, Chair of the Transportation and Housing Committee, and of the Select Committee on Growth Management – Senator DeSaulnier will speak on the 2014 legislative agenda relating to smart growth, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, CEQA and regional planning efforts connected to AB 32 and SB 375.
  • Zack Wasserman, Chair of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC), a member of the Joint Policy Committee, the state agency charged with coordinating regional policies between MTC, ABAG, BAAQMD and BCDC – Zack will discuss MTC's recently-adopted Plan Bay Area, its vision and goals, as well as its focus on priority development areas.
  • Todd Williams, Wendel Rosen – Todd will speak on 2013 CEQA reform focused on infill development, what can be expected in 2014, as well as recent CEQA cases concerning climate change.
